This will be an off-ice camp for Ringette players who share an interest in furthering their learning strategies and activities to be taken back to their teams that will improve communication, cooperation and team unity and allow the participants to be better team leaders in the future.
Participants will be divided into “home groups” of 6 or 7. Two Skill-builders will be designated to each group.
• These home groups would work through leadership building exercises together.
• Cabin assignments would be different from home groups in order to encourage the participants to be in contact with as many of their fellow athletes as possible over the weekend.
There will be three sessions in which the whole camp will participate together.
• We would have guest speakers brought in to discuss some of the key values, goals and benefits of Ringette, particularly things to be taken away from the game and applied off of the ice.
At each meal (except for breakfast), adult volunteers will each sit with a home group (changing groups each meal) and lead “food for thought” mini-sessions. In these sessions there will be a topic introduced which each group will discuss. At the end of the meal, each group will present their ideas to the rest of the camp.
DELEGATES
We will be accepting applications from current Ringette players born between 1993 and 1998 (players who technically would be between their second year of U14 Tween and their third year of U19 Belle).
